Collaborative Strategies Introduces First Ever Distributed Collaboration Summit
Conference Promises to Deliver Latest Insights Into Collaboration and Distributed Teams in the New Workplace
SAN MATEO, CALIF. (Sept. 11, 2014) — Research firm Collaboration Strategies, Inc. will bring together industry leaders at its inaugural Distributed Collaboration Summit (DCS), Jan. 15 and 16, 2015. The two-day conference will be conducted across 10 different locations in the United States supporting 200 face-to-face attendees and an unlimited number of virtual attendees via video streaming and other interactive services provided by Bluescape and other distributed collaboration technologies.
Advances in technology have changed the work environment and have gone as far as to transform the worker. The world has become mobile and distributed and so has collaboration. The Distributed Collaboration Summit celebrates this new workplace and the distributed worker by exploring new ways to collaborate over time and space.
“Research conducted this spring for Gigaom Research found that the biggest disruptors to collaboration over the next few years will be distributed teams and distributed collaboration,” said David Coleman, Collaboration Strategies founder and Gigaom Research senior analyst. “Based on these trends we wanted to create a unique event that embodies these trends around new ways of working by creating the first fully distributed event. We wanted to ‘walk our talk’ and show how a project like this can be pulled off by a distributed team for distributed teams.”
Coleman continued, “This summit is a new kind of conference for the distributed digital age, and supports the best of face-to-face and virtual interactions. In this way, we can have the best speakers, industry leaders and panels presented from any location and make it an interactive experience.”
The Summit will feature: an unconference session, facilitators at each co-location space, a hack-a-thon, an online community and start-up demos to name a few of the valuable types of interactions between in-person and virtual Summit attendees.
